Run to the River

Location: Both the 5K and 1K start at Calhoun School. Registration on event day will take place under the front door awning. Please be registered and ready to begin by 8 AM from the CES flag pole. Both races will travel along Sherwood Ave, take a left on Main Street then veer left on Cherokee Crossing. The 1K will conclude at Hiwassee Blueway (Calhoun Boat Dock), and the 5K will end at Hiwassee Baptist Church. Please park at Calhoun School. Transportation back to Calhoun School will be provided. Course: 5K-two challenging hills with moderate to level terrain along river. 1K-one challenging hill and basic down grade on Main St. to level terrain on Cherokee Crossing. Refreshments: Water available at the start and finish. Refreshments available at the finish line. Divisions: Youth (12 and under), Adult, Senior Adult (65+) Awards: All Participants: T-shirt if registered by April 1st, 5 tickets in the River Town drawing for a 2-night stay at Hiwassee Acres. Division winners: 20 tickets each in the River Town drawing + Gift card Division Runners-up: 15 tickets each in the River Town drawing. River Town's drawing will take place at the conclusion of all River Town Summer 2025 events. You do not have to be present at the drawing to win
