Employers across McMinn County can register to attend a community job fair on Thursday, August 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at the Athens Regional Park Conference Center. This job fair is hosted by the McMinn County Economic Development Agency (EDA) to connect employers with future employees. Participation is free, but there is a limited number of spots available, so companies are encouraged to register as early as possible.

“When companies post job listings, they are often flooded with resumes,” says Lindsey Ferguson, Executive Director of the McMinn County EDA. “This event allows for face-to-face conversations and informal interviews so qualified candidates stand out.”

The event also includes complimentary breakfast and coffee, as well as a free lunch for participating businesses.

All Industries Are Welcome to Participate

The McMinn County EDA welcomes employers from all companies and industries. Candidates will bring diverse skill sets and experience levels to the job fair, while companies can offer a wide range of work opportunities. This event is ideal for companies that want to promote their workplace culture and fill open positions quickly.

There is space for staffing agencies, recruiting firms, and education partners to set up booths at the fair. However, the EDA would like to prioritize booths for companies that are actively hiring so it can immediately connect employers with potential candidates.

“We love our staffing agencies and local colleges; they are invaluable workforce partners and help people discover career paths,” says Ferguson. “However, for this event, we would like to showcase the companies hiring in the area so attendees can meet the people they will be working for.”

A Booth and Table Will be Provided

Each participating company will receive a booth, a table, and two chairs. There is also limited access to electricity for companies that want to set up computers or TVs. Please contact the EDA to request electricity access if needed. Companies can bring informational or promotional materials and team members to talk about available roles. The free lunch is available for up to two company representatives.

While the job fair starts at 9:00 AM, participating companies can access the space at 8:00 AM to set up. Businesses that need extra time may also set up the day before.

A detailed Vendor Information Packet will be sent closer to the event, including setup instructions, parking details, and other day-of logistics.
