Organizations in McMinn County could use a helping hand this National Volunteer Month. McMinn County residents who are experienced with volunteer work or who have little to no related skills can try their hand at a multitude of volunteer positions in the area. No matter the skill level, these organizations can benefit greatly from your work. 

National Volunteer Month is celebrated throughout April every year. The celebration invites people across the nation to recognize the enormous impact volunteers have made over the years. Acknowledging their hard work and dedication has the potential to inspire others to become active volunteers in their communities.

McMinn County is committed to serving the needs of community members. As businesses and organizations are still struggling to deal with the aftermath of the pandemic, volunteers are in demand now more than ever. The search continues for helpers who are willing to commit some time and energy to assisting these generous organizations. Charitable Organizations in McMinn County 

McMinn County is home to honorable organizations and charities that welcome volunteers. Below is just a short list of some that you can choose from. 

Athens-McMinn Family YMCA

The Athens-McMinn Y is a nonprofit serving McMinn County residents through various youth development and healthy living programs. Volunteer opportunities are available based on the current needs of the organization. Call to inquire about donating your time.

CASA - Corridor of East Tennessee 

Staff and volunteers of Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) - Corridor of East Tennessee work to ensure that abused and neglected children throughout McMinn, Meigs, and Rhea Counties end up in a secure and loving home. Volunteers investigate and advocate for these children before the juvenile courts. The nonprofit organization relies on staff, volunteers, and donations to keep it running, so new volunteers are always appreciated.

Coordinated Charities of Athens

This private 501-C(3) nonprofit agency assists the community by providing emergency help to those in need. This organization can use help with organizing clothes and food, packing groceries, and more. Those interested in volunteering can call to set up a day and time. 

Keep McMinn Beautiful

This volunteer-based nonprofit government entity provides community members with the education, resources, and guidance needed to keep McMinn County clean and beautiful. Contact the organization to find current programs you can volunteer for.  

McMinn Senior Activity Center

Here, seniors can stay active by participating in daily programs and events, whether it be fitness, sports, games, singing, arts and crafts, or another exciting activity. Positions range from office helper and front desk greeter to fundraising event and bake sale volunteers. Sign up to volunteer and form a worthwhile bond with senior citizens of McMinn County.

St. Paul’s Table Graces
